New Student Workers

For the new year, we have some new faces to help us get the community involved and increase productivity. We welcome the student workers from the Clyde C. Miller Career Academy! They've been working on the production side and gaining kitchen skills. And man, do they cut a mean sweet potato! We put them to the task, and two hours later we had 140 lbs of sweet potato wedges ready to be baked off.

Farmer Appreciation & Crop Planning Dinner

SLU hosted a Farmer Appreciation & Crop Planning Dinner on December 16th to plan ahead for the 2010 year while thanking our farmers for their participation with the HELP program.
   

It was a smashing success with 25 attendees! We ate a wonderful dinner sourced from local producers, enjoyed wine from Chaumette Vineyards and desserts made by SLU students overseen by master baker Todd Parkhurst.

HELP is excited for 2010 and the new challenges it will bring!
